Moving In: Yellow House Strikes Back

We love the little yellow house, but we sort of forgot about it in the excitement of the move. We have most of the boxes at the new house situated and in their place. All and all it is comfortable living at the new house. Then out of no where I remember, "OH man! We got nothing out of our attic at the old house and it still needs to be cleaned." The yellow house is small you would think it would be no big deal, but we were tired and honestly our little black cat shed places I never saw. There was enough fur just under our bed to make 3 new Starskys.

We go to clean and of course with all the rain the yard looked like a jungle. The boys did the yard work while I did the inside. We got everything now out of the yellow house. The yard is still ours for a few more weeks until the new renters move in, but we can now settle in to the new home without the contents of the yellow house in the back of our minds.

We are tired and a little cranky at one another, but other than that we are loving the space and the neighborhood.

A Roaring Good Time!

Matt and I went to the zoo last week with Paul and Kristin. It was warm out there and kind of crowded for a Wednesday. I guess lots of people had the same idea we did. It was a fun time though. The boys enjoyed the wagon and stayed in it for the most part.

The zoo has this traveling dinosaur exhibit right now, and we found it. It is at the very back east corner I believe. (My directions are not the best) There are fossils to see and a sand pit which was the saving grace for Matt, because the main attractions are these huge animatronic dinosaurs that move a roar. For those who know Matt, you know that the little small moving or vibrating toys like tickle me Elmo or Cookie Monster do not fly with this kid. SO why on earth did I think he would like this exhibit. He lost it the moment we rounded the corner and heard a giant ROAR! He was clinging on to me for dear life, like a cat not wanting to get a bath. Then I saw it the sandpit. I got Matt to go in it and he cried at first and was worried (see below), but I convinced him that the T-Rex just to right was NOT real and very much a nice guy. Every time the T-Rex moved and roared Matt would look up from his digging and say, "He's nice. Dinosaur is nice. He not real." After I tortured him with the big huge dinosaurs he asked to jump in the moon bounce so we did, but even that took some convincing once we got to the entrance since it was shaped like a giant dragon.

Arts Festival 2009

Matt, AJ, and I went to the Festival of the Arts on Tuesday. It was a lot of fun. Matt got his face painted and he had a blast looking at the ducks and running around on the hills. We also looked at the dragon. We did not however partake in the best part which is the food. We had not eaten lunch and Matt was starting to lose it because he was hungry. I know what you all might be thinking, "There is lunch food out at the arts festival." But you know what the only food I like out there is the dessert food and I can't eat that in front of Matt and not share. So I was a good Mom and decided it was best to go eat lunch. We went out to lunch at a burger joint and Matt was so good. It is exciting that we can go out to eat now and Matt lasts longer than 10 minutes.

OK off topic sorry. Matt also found a friend at the festival. A friendly bear statue. Matt did not want to leave. It is only $19,000 for those who might be looking for a Christmas present for Matt. ;) All in all it was a great time.
