Boys Can Play Dress-Up Too

We went a little over board with the costumes, but Matt loves them and they are big enough to last a few years. AJ and I love seeing this pretend play and Matt is making us laugh constantly with this.

The Great State Fair and Disney on Ice

On Thursday AJ, Matt, and I went to the fair to see Disney on Ice. We went a little early to look around and eat some food. Matt had a great time. He and AJ shared a turkey leg, I gave him a bite or two of my fried snickers, we got to pet a baby chick, and he rode on a little tractor. It was so much fun that Matt did not want to go with us to the "building" were his surprise was.
He went into the arena where Disney on Ice was crying a little bit until he saw Disney stuff. Then he was all for it.

"Careful Lenny"
Be gentle to the baby chick.

The man was nice enough to push Matt around the track.
Matt loved it especially crashing into the hay.

He was too busy watching the show to
care about our family picture. That
is just fine though I am happy
he loved it that much!

Matt Screams for Ice Cream

We were eating dinner and earlier that day Great-Grandpa Vaughn gave Matt some money for ice cream. So AJ went out and bought some. Matt was eating and half way through we thought it would be good motivation to tell Matt about his ice cream treat (and to take pictures).

"Matt we have ice cream cones for dessert"

"Good eating buddy"

"Can you give me a smile for the camera"
"Are you so happy now?"
"mmmm, Ice cream"
Thank you Gramps for the ice cream money. We did make him eat dinner first which was a little bit torturing, but he did a good job eating. He totally deserved his dessert.

Attack of the Sugar Monsters (aka Grandparents)

While Katie and the boys were here we went around and saw all the grandparents and great-grandparents. It was tons of fun. Grandparents are wonderful especially Matt's. They are playful, patient, and perfect in practically every way.
However there must be a switch that is flipped when these parents of our become grandparents. They still look like our parents and grandparents, but sugar aliens have taken over their bodies and decided that children only need ice cream and candy. I would have loved this as a kid, but as a parent, who has to go home with the sugared up child, I have mixed feelings.
Matt is still here though and looking good and healthy so I guess I can't complain that much. It was great seeing everyone and we love you all.
