Sweet 16 and the Cake Burglar

Our niece Rachel turned 16 this year. Oh goodness that makes me feel a little bit old. It helps that I was incredibly young when she was born though. So us Glovers finally got our act together and had a surprise party (a month late) for her. Following the time line I thought I would post pictures a good month late too.

This really is more about Rachel, but those who know him and love him realize who the cake burglar is. (dun, dun, dun... Matt Boogie of course!)

Here is the amazing cake I made for Rachel.
It has most of her favorite things.
Now if you look closely at the front of the cake just
to the side of the guitar you will notice tee tiny little finger prints.
That is right the cake burglar strikes again!

More of an aerial view.
Notice the prints are still there.

Rachel and the lady who
brought all of this together, Grandma Gerry.

The Birthday Girl
Sorry about the sash Rachel.
Grandma and I could not resist.

Matt has a front row seat
for the cake.

Rachel putting up with her little cousin.
He handed her the plate and demanded some cake.
What am I going to do with this guy?
This need for sweets must come from his dad. Right?
We love you Rachel and hope you had a wonderful Sweet 16!

Randomness

STOP!
You are about to see some serious cuteness.
NO!
I really mean it.
OK!
I warned you.
Continue at your own risk
See I told you.
This is Matt's Easter outfit. I was going to go with a cute sweater vest, but he really wanted a tie. He even picked it out himself. It has robots. Who doesn't need a good robot tie?

Football Boogie

Matt is officially playing soccer. So we had to go get some shin guards, socks, and cleats. The football stuff is in the same aisle. Matt went and found the helmet on his own and put that on. Then I saw the pads and could not resist putting those on too. Even though he looks like a rough and tough football guy, Matt was pretending to be Iron Man. It was really cute.

Then we saw Harry, Joe, and Kristin. They came down to say hi. Uncle Joe thought it would be fun to get a tackling dummy out. He let boys hit on it until something starting coming out of the bottom of the dummy. I guess these boys don't know their own strength.

Be Mine Boogie

For Valentine's Day AJ and I got Matt a small little something to say we love you. He was so happy and the reaction was priceless. Matt also made Valentine's for all the special grandparents in his life. We hope they all got them since AJ and I special delivered them yesterday. There might be a little surprise in the mailbox the next time they check their mail.
Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's day. I know I did sharing it with my loving guys!
